Quality hand made soft furnishings for your home or business
I offer a complete service from choosing fabrics and types of window dressing to hanging and dressing the finished product.
Initially I will help you decide on the best type of window dressing for the window style you have, discussing what will work best and any issues that need to be addressed. I can also help with colours and styles of fabric to complement your room.
I will then take measurements and note any extra requirements you need, then provide a full quote.
Once the quote has been accepted and after receiving a 50%-part payment, I will book your job into my calendar. My lead time can change depending on time of year and other jobs I have booked in but generally it is 4-6 weeks until your job is ready.
When everything is made and ready, my fitter and I will visit and install your window dressing and then the remaining balance will be due.
Curtains come in all shapes and sizes. There are lots of different headings to chose from to suit your taste and space. From the traditional double and triple hand pleated to the modern wave design, with everything in between. Here is a list of some of the styles available:
· Hand-pleated
· Wave
· Pencil pleat
· Cottage headed
· Eyelet
· Shaped – to fit apex/gable ends or arched windows
· Voiles
Your curtains can be made with either premium lining or blackout lining and will be fully interlined if that is what is required.
Roman blinds can give the addition of colour and pattern to a room, without needing the space curtains sometimes need.
They will always be fully lined and interlined to give a look of fullness and quality. They will be supplied a fully child-safe headrail and fixings, in compliance with the latest legal requirements.
Roman blinds can be shaped at the top to fit or complement a shaped window.
Sometimes a hand-made window dressing is not the right product. I also supply and fit all other types of blinds such as:
· Roller blinds
· Venetian blinds in wood, faux wood and aluminium.
· Vertical blinds – either the traditional type or allusion blind which is a mix of the traditional with voile.
· Privacy blinds – either voile roller blinds or day/night blinds to provide privacy without blocking light out.
Velux and Sky Lights
All window dressings can be complemented with a pelmet or valance.
Some people don’t like to see the track the curtains hang on or the ceiling might not be perfectly straight. A pelmet can be used to hide these things, enhancing the look.
They can also be used purely for effect, by using a contrast colour or edging they can raise the appearance of your window dressing.
I can provide soft furnishings to complement your décor.
· Simple scatter cushions in all shapes and sizes, with piping or trims and tassels.
· Bedding – runners, bedspreads, bed valances.
· Lampshades – ceiling or table and standard lamp shades in many styles and shapes.
I offer a range of services from just recovering a piece with new fabric to completely stripping down and rebuilding from the frame up.
· Upholstery – both modern and traditional of lounge chairs, dining chairs, footstools, headboards
· Loose covers – for chairs and sofas
· Bench/box seat cushions.
If you need something unique or unusual get in touch. I have done items and projects that are designed for just the customer. I love a challenge and a project I can get my teeth into. Previous bespoke items have included a floor pad for a drum kit, padded coat pegs and roof blinds.
